Phl reports 82% increase in weekly Covid-19 cases

The Philippines reported a total of 3,051 new Covid-19 cases from 13 to 19 June – an 82 percent increase from the previous week – the Department of Health (DoH) said Monday.,Based on its latest case bulletin, the country also recorded an average of 436 cases per day in the past seven days, almost double compared to the 240 cases recorded from the previous week.,,Of the additional cases, 15 were tagged as severe and critical cases. This is equivalent to 0.50 percent of new cases.,Meanwhile, a total of 554 severe and critical cases are currently admitted to hospitals due to Covid-19.,Data also showed that a total of 385 out of 2,636 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) are now occupied, and 4,033 out of 22,156 non-ICU beds are in use.,So far, the government has vaccinated a total of 70,032,274 individuals or 77.81 percent of the target population.,Earlier, the National Task Force Against Covid-19 announced it has vaccinated more than 70 million Filipinos before President Rodrigo Duterte steps down from office on 30 June.
